Cocoa please, with a marshmallow for a pillow.

Roll your head over for a sip and a bite — divine!

Hot tea would be my go-to as well, especially green tea! I've been battling extreme fatigue, so have given myself an endless guilt-free pass for taking breaks. Sit down and have a cup of tea, and enjoy it before it goes cold. Need a nap? Sink into the couch and cuddle-up. It's out of character for me, but very much needed right now, and makes a big difference.

Sorry for the fatigue ❤️‍🩹, it's SO good that you're giving yourself endless break passes - I don't think it can recover any other way. I hope it's turning a corner, or has already, or does soon...take really good care.

Hi, Eliza,

Thanks for all the good wishes! I think I am turning a corner. Yea!

Thank you and take good care!

Thank you for the post! I've been so restless lately! I want to be in a natural hot spring, just immersing in some clean, nice water. (I know, I don't really have to be a tiny version to do this – but I don't have access to hot springs either. Not in Los Angeles. So if I were tiny and could just relax in a teacup at home, that would be lovely.) ;-)

Mmm, Maple, that sounds like it would be the most relaxing thing! Maybe a bathtub or hot-tub would get you part-way there. Wishing you REST my friend. 🫶

It really has been a challenge to rest deeply lately. I hadn’t thought to seek out sips of rest — what a good suggestion. And I’ll definitely look into your suggestions.

If I were tiny… that alone is a restful prompt! I loved dreaming about that when I was a kid. If I were tiny, I’d love to be in a pretty teacup of tea (with cream) and sugar. Accompanied by a scone, of course.

Love that. You and me both, K!! 💛💛

My worn-out soul greatly appreciated hearing that it's not alone in struggling to find rest lately - even though it should be obvious that so many other souls are also tired and many are dealing with much more serious challenges than mine. It still feels good to hear it and remember we're in this together.

I also love this reminder of what amazing tools our imaginations are for healing and restoring. And I've been struggling to find something unstressful to watch in the evening, so I'm looking forward to checking out The Detectorists!

It's not very tasty, but I immediately wanted to just be immersed in hot salt water, because I want to float! But matcha would be a close second for me.

I'm glad (but also not 🫠) to hear you relate, Jennifer -- these are extra exhausting times.

The Detectorists is a quiet show, which might not be everyone's thing but I find extra nice for right now.

And you can do BOTH the salt water float AND the matcha! Unlimited options!

My husband and I started watching it, and it's early to tell but it seems great to me - and with lots of actors where I'm trying to remember all the shows I've seen them in, which is fun. As an added bonus I discovered a Masterclass with Amy Poehler on Hoopla (where we need to watch the Detectorists) and it was hilarious and also uplifting/inspiring. Good medicine all around.

Speaking of which, very happy to hear that I get unlimited options! Something chocolate clearly needs to happen too, then.

Stay cozy over there! 😊

Thanks Jennifer! And Masterclass with Amy Poehler sounds fun, will have to check it out. Something chocolate, always 🤎

Have you ever listened through Melissa Harrison's podcast "The Stubborn Light of Things?" It had a limited run during COVID and was absolutely magical, revolving around Mel taking walks in her surrounding English countryside during lockdown, having guest authors provide essays, and exploring Gilbert White's seminal book "The Natural History of Selbourne". It's a podcast I return to whenever I need some serious emotional/mental rest, and I cannot recommend it enough!

(And since then, Mel has also started a Substack called "Witness Marks", which is equally fantastic!)

To your excellent prompt, however... (this is a judgement-free zone, right?)... I think it would be a nice big cup of warm sake!

Ooo, I never caught that podcast, but it sounds so lovely! Will definitely give it a listen, thank you for the rec.

And I love your warm Sake immersion! Mmm. Always a judgement free zone ✨
